Intro to Comp Gov Pol

I've recommended this before, but there are many teachers new to this blog and this course, so here it is again.

How many concepts can you identify in this bit of Monty Python silliness? Which ideas are purely British? Which ideas apply to all 6 of the CompGov countries? Is this silly or serious or both?

Let's begin with this little poster? Does it make any sense? What is a legitimate basis for a system of government? What is legitimate government?

After that discussion, try listing the concepts mentioned in the following clip. Make sure you know what they mean, when they're important, and why they're important.

Now, get back to work on the terribly serious work of comparing government and politics.

Teaching Comparative blog entries are indexed. Use the search box to look for country names or concept labels attached to each entry.

What You Need to Know 7th edition is ready to help.
